Hi Nan,
I placed mine horizontally in a dish of water. When they sprouted at the
ends, I planted horizontally in potting soil, shoots up, half buried in
soil. All three of mine are about 5 ft tall now but watch out, snails
love them and except for the new leaves, my plants look really shredded.
