I read an article in our daily newspaper about 6 months ago re a chap about
to launch his olive oil on the market, I think his orchard was in the Huon
area which is South of Hobart and fairly cool in temps.
I planted 7 olive trees at our country garden and they have grown quite
rapidly, approx 6 years ago, have flowered but never formed fruit. Maybe
the cold winter causes the fruit to drop. This does not concern me as I
have planted them for ornamental purposes amongst my mini birch wood. They
are in a row on their own with plenty of sun.
I thought that quite a lot of olives were grown commercially in South Australia?
