Being on a worldwide network gives one interesting perspectives on 'weed'
flora vs. desireable flora. Here in Northern California *Pinus halapensis*
is a well-thought of species used for tall screens. We have some beautiful
ones on the Diablo Valley College campus where I sometimes work. *Pinus
radiata*, on the other hand, though a California native is an overused,
pest-ridden, noisome species.
