Last Autumn I took delivery of 2 passion-flower plants in pots, both about 2ft
tall. They had a bit of a rough journey by post but survived. I stood them
both on my kitchen window-sill to await the Spring. One of them, P. Violacea
became quite rampant if a bit leggy, but the other P. Quadrangularis has stood
absolutely still, sporting the one large dryish leaf and a few, almost
invisible, side shoots, which have not changed in size during six months,
despite the having usual benefits of light, watering and central heating. I
have looked up the web-page and found that it should be flowering from June
onwards. Not much time left.
My problem is that I had planned to take it the rest of its journey to Greece
in a few days. Since the pot would take up almost the whole of my luggage
space, will I just be dragging a corpse or is this sluggishness the lifestyle
of this plant?
