I believe Mindanao gum is Eucalyptus deglupta. It
_loves_ water. I have a friend who grows two in his
foggy garden near the ocean in San Francisco, and the
biggest problem he has with them is not the chill
(rarely does the temperature reach 70F/21C), but
keeping them moist enough. The big ones on the road to
Hana on Maui have breathtaking rainbow bark. Exquisite
tree.
