David:  I don't have the species name for you as of yet but I can tell you
that there is a white blooming Oxalis that is native to Maine.  I have a
friend whose wife is from Maine and this is the plant that she carried with
her to Florida.

Maybe this can help you in a direction while I'm getting in touch with my
friend.
