Hi,
Some planting ideas required for my neighbour who would like year round interest and some colour. She has a set of 3 large stone planters (largest circa 1.5ft diameter and 2ft deep) on 2 corners of her terrace beside swimming pool. They are in full sun and fairly exposed to wind. Plants must cope with Summer highs of 35ºC+ and very occasional lows of around -2ºC. and irrigation is available. There is a pair of mature Hibiscus r.s. nearby.
Here are some that I was going to suggest
a Yucca (Jewell perhaps),
one of the smaller Phormiums but maybe they are too tender for this spot
Cycas revoluta
Abelia
Myrsine africana
Pittosporum nana
Lavenders or Rosemary
Any ideas on the combination of plants welcome.
Cheers,
Maria
