Plant ID

Can anyone identify this plant - it appeared as a volunteer in a purchased plant in pot.  Has since reappeared in another pot.

About 4-5inches (10-12 cm) tall.

Yellow flowers appear to be tightly closed flattened spheres, about 75 mm in diameter.

Rather attractive, but is it an invasive weed?  (In which case it could have come from any continent)

I have not seen it seeding around anywhere.
