Hello Cindy and Michael,
I've got a little info about Laurus 'Saratoga' from Alita Felice.
"The 'Saratoga' is a hybrid between L. nobilis and L.
azorica (L.canariensis). It is useful as a hedge plant, growing up to
25' with a spread of 15'. It is also easily trained into a single
leader, thus forming a nice small tree with semi-open rounded crown.
Grows to 8' x 6' in 5 years as a standard. Leaves are moderate olive
green 4"x2" with prominent yellow mid vein, and 1/4" dark red petiole.
Elliptic to ovate shape with undulating margins. Branches and
branchlets dark red. Small pale yellow flowers are produced in the leaf
axils of the previous season's growth, appearing February to April. This
is a male selection. Takes full to part shade, regular water to little
water once established. Potential problems: Oyster-shell scale and
black scale. Although our experience shows that the scale can be present
but does not seem to be detrimental to the overall health of the plant.
This is the only Laurus we are working with.Alita Felice"
But does somebody help me to get plants in Belgium - Europe?
This is one variety, but does somebody knows other.
