Quick response:
When I was in Coronado last week, half block from the beach, there 
was a bauhinia in resplendent bloom.  Tabebuia should be fine as 
well.  I don't konw about the others -- Chorisia grows all over this 
area and I seldom see it set seed, but I don't know specifically 
about whether it would set seed in Coronado.  I will forward your msg 
to my colleagues and see what they say.
