Hi Cheryl -
Yes, the garden tour is on Saturday, May 26th. I have fixed the web page
and hope to have it uploaded before the end of the day. This shows the
folly in having a dyslexic, preoccupied webmaster with failing eyesight.
There is still some room in this tour, and I have recently received the
descriptions of Bernard's garden that will be on the tour - looks like
it'll be quite interesting:
Garden One - The quintessential mediterranean landscape. Dry climate
plantings of lavender, thyme, and rosemary are nestled beneath edible fruit
trees such as figs, olives, and a pineapple guava, with warm terracotta and
buff colors predominant in the paving, garden walls, and large urns.
Garden Two - A renovation on an existing old garden, with plantings newly
designed to reflect the strength and style of the beautiful residence, urns
and Greek pots utilized as striking structural details in the landscape to
marry the scale of the building with the surrounding landscape.
Garden Three - A compact city garden as an example of creative land use,
with two distinctly different micro-climates - the front garden contains
manzanita, madrone, and succulents; the rear garden appears lush and leafy,
with tall ornamental grasses and herbs nestled beneath a California buckeye
tree.
For those interested in reserving a spot on this local SF Bay Area tour,
call Sue Ann Manners at (925) 254-0226. The fee is $25 ($15 for MGS members).
Should be fun!
