Re: Trees in Coronado, San Diego

Another thought for David. There is a great book called Ornamental
Plants for Subtropical Regions written by Roland Hoyt in 1938. The
book went out of print for a long time but has been reissued recently
by Hoyt's children as I understand it. I believe that Hoyt lived in
the SD area but may have lived in LA. It is a WONDERFUL reference
book that groups plants in all kind sof ways, I can't even begin to
list them. Anyway, it might be helpful in deciding what to plant in
Coronado. If you want a copy, The San Deigo Floral Association was
selling copies with misprinted covers for a ridciulously low price,
maybe $17 (that includes tax and shipping)! That' show I got mine.
Contact them at 619 232-5762?

Hope that helps!

Nan

PS I'll check on the palms when my palm expert returns to town
