is it Mediterranean enough to discuss . . .

Dear Medit-Plants-persons -

There have been a number of side comments regarding whether or not
a plant is Mediterranean and therefore appropriate to discuss on
this forum. I'd just like to help alleviate these concerns by
restating that I helped to create this group in order to discuss
ALL issues relevant to gardeners in Mediterranean climates
throughout the world. While many of us certainly enjoy species
endemic to the Mediterranean basin, we do not restrict ourselves to
merely those plants. Mediterranean climates can grow a wide
variety of a species, even some typically found in less moderate or
mild climates (though they usually grow differently for us!). Feel
free to explore any line of inquiry that is appropriate to your
gardening, but especially those which bear directly on appropriate
horticulture or plant selection for our unique climate.

Thank you all for your participation in this group, and the
interesting comments routinely posted.
