Although I live in Belgium at present, all my gardening is done in Greece. This is very frustrating because, although there are masses of beautiful plants to be had here and in England, but for sale nowhere in the Cyclades. I have been reading the correspondence in this column for a couple of weeks and am amazed at the variety of mediterranean plants which you can all get hold of, while I am unable to buy locally anything much more exotic than osteospermum, fuchsias and begonias, and all with no names. Advertisements in English magazines say "Delivery in UK only". Does anyone (a) know the rules for importing plants into Greece, or (b) know the address of a stockist in Greece, where I can buy by mail-order? Also I have a 4-year old lemon tree which is fruiting nicely for the second year. It's about 7 feet tall and has never been pruned. I should like to move it further up the same bed. Is this tricky and should I prune it (and when?)
