Anything that doesn't require watering has much in its favour.

Sorry if this has been asked before, I'm fairly new to this list,
but can you post some good sources for Cal. native plants or xeriscape
plants (or at least where did you find the eriogonum?)

I'm on a 2 acre property and have been gradually extending the gardens
outwards from the house. Unless I want to risk my well running dry, the
outer gardens have to be xeriscape plantings, but I want it to be
interesting both from a botanical as well as a design perspective, so
need an interesting palette of plants of different shapes, sizes, forms.
Drama, charm, unusual foliage colours, are some of the qualities I'm
looking for. And of course, non-invasive.

If anyone has any particular favourites that they would care to rave
about, I'm all eyes.

Thanks in advance, and also thanks to all who responded about the crambe.
