Gardens are such magical places. I grown and hybridize abutilons and
must have 15
different clones in my garden. The humming birds are always at
them,. particularly
'Nabob' and 'Moonchimes' which I have trained as a climber and is now
up to 13' tall.
I'm sure they's been responsible for some of my best hybrids,
Barclay's Pink, Creamcicle,
Creme Fraiche, Conchita. They love them and appear to share Ms.
Parer's assessment
that they look like exotic tropical fruits hanging down demandin g to
be fed on. They
have yet to discover my only salvia, S. interrupta which I'm training
up a metal sculpture
on my drought slope.
