I share Loretta's antipathy to Oleanders. After a lifetime of exposure to
the hundreds of miles of Oleander monoculture on California freeways, one is
loathe to have them in the garden. If I had room, I might make an exception
for one of the dwarf varieties, which can be quite attractive in their
season, and are sufficiently different from the freeway sort that there is no
guilt by association.
In the spirit of the list, shouldn't we make it ten best (or ten favorite)
plants for mediterranean gardens, and ten worst (or least favorite)? It
might help to narrow the focus a bit. Just a suggestion.
