Re: Two Unique Trees - Chorisia, Brachychiton

When I was first starting my studies in plants at Long
Beach City College (CA), Chorisia speciosa struck me,
too (by its beauty and not its spines!). There was
one in the courtyard of the admissions building.

If I remember correctly, and forgive me if I am
repeating what's already been said, it is tropical (or
semi-trop) in origin. So, if you live in southern
California, or a place with similar climate, it should
grow well. Although, it may need quite a bit of water
in which case I would choose a "less thirsty" tree.

happy plant hunting!
