saffron crocus?

Hi everyone!  I just bought a pot of saffron crocus and wonder how I should
grow them -- shall I leave them in their plastic pot?  Plant them in the
ground (what kind of soil, water, light, etc) or am I better off to put it
in a large terracotta pot or??
