Anyways, im wondering is there any plants that do well in the median
strips between the street and sidewalks? Id need something low, or
easily kept low, and i dont want anything that would spread easily by
cuttings (meaning if i take the weed trimmer to it, and a branch gets
somewhere else it wont root =) ). IE: NOT iceplant! :).

Hi Barry,
If you're looking for a different sort of median planting.
I have a friend in Ventura who has done a beautiful planting of terrestrial
bromeliads in a median strip. His name is Dutch Vandervort and if you want
more info he can be reached by e- mail at dutchvan@earthlink.net. You could
also check out his web site at http://www.callpage.com/dutch/index.html he
has a list of some bromeliads, mostly terrestrials that hehas for sale. I've
bought several plants from him and can assure you of the the quality of his
plants. If you get into Bromeliads, Charles Dills, a contributor to this list
has a very elegant Bromeliad web site at http://www.fix.net/~cdills/. Check
it out.
