Re: About David Poole

>Ahem - very much alive and kicking I can assure you.

This is a bit off topic but when I first came to work at the College of
Forestry, I got a call that I didn't quite know what to do with. (names
changed) It was an older woman, rather tired sounding, saying "Hi, this is
Maggie McDougle, and I was calling to let the appropriate know that Jack
McDougle had died." I said "I'm sorry to hear that - who do I need to tell?
She said "Well, I'm not sure - they had called earlier and asked if Jack
had died yet but he hadn't, but he has died now, so I want them to know." I
just took the message and asked around. It was determined that it was
probably an alumni thing, so I passed the message, pretty much verbatim, to
our alumni newsletter editor. He called me we had the following
conversation:

"Oh, Jack McDougle died - too bad, a nice guy - graduated in '63."

  - There seemed to be some confusion about it.

"Soo, she's pretty sure about it this time, eh?!"

Evidently he had been reported in the newsletter earlier as having passed
on, and he called in saying "I did not!!" So they finally got it right. :)
