newspapers and governments must include the person's
email address as a part of their identification. Hence, the recent
article about the demise of a soul named David Poole would have cleared up
any and all confusion and grief before it even started! The unfortunate
death of David Poole (someone@somewhere.org) would have in no way startled
someone who knows David Poole (dave-poole@ilsamn.demon.co.uk).
Of course, the fact that it was a Bay Area newspaper reporting on a
"Mountain View man" (MV being a local city) was a big clue.
