Annuals for shade and ground cover for roses

I have two queries which I would appreciate any ideas on:

* I have just planted an area which receives virtually no direct sunlight
although quite a lot of light otherwise, the planting is a mixture of shade
tolerant shrubs and perennials but I would like to add some annuals for
infill during the first year?  Any ideas??


* Am working on a rose bed which receives a fair amount of sunlight but
obviously is shady at ground level - any ideas for ground cover plants?
