well from what i see in my yard:

The north side of the house is always shaded, and we havent decided
what to do back there. Anyways, the two grasses i see are Kikuyu (do
NOT use this one, its just for example =) ). And Bermuda grass. I know
some of you will say bermuda grass is horrible, but its the most
prevalent grass in that side of the yard, so it seems to tolerate
shade. Also, it tolerates dry, and seems behaved as long as its not
watered.
