At no stage was it considered exclusively a UK only site even though
its primary purpose is to provide an open forum for the discussion of
growing mainly sub-tropical plants of any type within the UK.
Naturally any input from any part of the world is welcome, since it
gives a good insight into a particular plant's range of tolerances
etc. As Gay mentions, certain climates allow an immense range of
plants to be grown and surely half of the fun is suddenly discovering
that a previously thought impossibility, not only survives, but
appears to thrive.

Tasmania, parts of South Island NZ, parts of Ireland, parts of
Scotland and Oregon/Washington states in the US all share broad,
climatic similarities and any contributions from folk living in these
areas is especially welcome. That said, it is always very interesting
to hear of experiences from virtually anywhere. So if a Floridan
wants to turn us green with tales of gigantic Alocasias which often
have to ripped out in order to preserve the integrity of the rest of
the garden, I'm sure the rest of us will reluctantly read with ever
increasing envy!
