Come on, I almost don't know what you are referring about! Here we never get
anything like the colors in the eastern parts of the States. I've seen some
photos; but even in the cold, Northern, continental climate regions of Italy
they don't get colors like THAT. And, I would never think of introducing
them in my gardens, even if I could, can you imagine a japanese maple
glowing with red foliage among phlomis and santolinas? (not that I don't
like red and grey, but the texture and shape of the leaves just don't match).
What I humbly meant was something more tailored to our needs, something that
would cast the occasional Autumn accent among the general lush look of the
garden.
