Re: rats in my fig!
Okay Mark, stop fretting : } Figs do wonderfully here, especially
the brown turkey. I planted one as a whip about three years ago and
it's now about 8 x 10 and fruiting like crazy and I pay it VERY
little attention. How old is yours? What is it planted in
(soil-wise), how and how often is it watered?
I know that our climate is nothing like Portland's (was there just
last week) but give yourself a few years and your gardening will
adjust. In the meantime, ask questions!
And regarding the cat idea. The damage seems to happen at night when
my kitty is locked in the house to keep him safe from coyotes.
