Re: rats in my fig!

I have been trying to not write very much since last Saturday when I
managed to cut my finger (my ring finger none the less) while pruning that
fig tree. I go in little bouts of typing until I can't take it any more,
and then rest.. kind of sucks when I generally have to do soo much stuff
with my hands. Then last night I was bbq'ing and managed to burn the index
finger of my other hand to the point of blistering. Thus, I'm not writing
much lately.. and in fact I'll probably just cut and paste this paragraph
into the rest of today's emails so folks know why I'm unusually quiet!

I suspect the one we've got here is ancient, and it's planted in a hole in
our concrete back yard :) There are better things to be growing in a 3'x3'
hole in the concrete, and yes, I'm quite sure the soil is for sh*t, so
sticking with cacti and aloes and other succulents makes more sense.. It
gets plenty of water, but is sort of constantly wilted-looking. Maybe I'll
bonsai it once it goes dormant?

Thanks for the encouragement! :)

Mark
