Re: Silk Floss tree in flower


Thought I'd throw this in for your amusement.

I took my kids (9 yr old son, 7.5 yr old daughter) to the local 
botanical garden one day (or maybe it was the San Diego Zoo), and 
there were several silk floss trees.  My son, the expert, informed me 
that the ones with those huge studs on the trunks were the males and 
the ones with smooth trunks were females.

He said that "everyone" knows it's true...  My daughter agreed wholeheartedly!

PS  I was actually amazed that they had the concept of male and female plants!
