Re: suggestions please

Dear Melissa and all on the list,.

I have the same problem with shade in my garden,
and I use Pachysandra (Japanese Spurge) with great succes.
It makes a fresh green cover the whole year.
I donīt think that your hot summer will harm the plants.
It is used in the most parts in Europe, and here in Denmark
we have also had a very hot sommer this year with 3-4 weeks
with temparetures above 31 degree Celsius, which I think is
nearly the same as 87 degree Farenheit -
And my Pachysandras look better than ever before.
I donīt know if they are commen used in U.S.

In New York there is a nusery called "Speciality nursery growing
groundcover plants" At their homepage you can get all the informations
you want. Just try www.peekskillnurseries.com/pachysandra.html .

Good luck.
