Re: suggestions

Hi Cathy - I have a lovely memory picture of your garden bulbs in full
spring bloom! Hope to see it again some time.
Lorraine:
Quite by accident I planted the new geranium, G. 'Rozanne' smack over
the dead foliage of yellow blooming Homeria collina bulbs. Ever since, the
homeria pokes up early between the long blue blooming arms of Rozanne, then
comes into full bloom as she goes winter dormant. When the weather warms,
she extends her blooming arms again with the last homeria blooms, then hikes
up and through the yellowing bulb foliage camouflaging it as it dies away.

There are several other true geraniums which bloom on gradually extending
arms as summer comes in. Interplanting them with spring blooming bulbs
creates a continuous show and loosely hides the ripening bulb foliage.
