Barry, are you sure they are seed pods and not flower pods? Sorry to ask, but
it looks like you are from Monterey.... I live in Santa Cruz county and my
camellia sasanqua starts its flower buds now and then blooms right before
Christmas. (they take their time!)
Mine sure is a joy, I waited and found exactly the one I wanted -mine is in a
large pot "sasanqua hana-jiman" and has gorgeous flowers with lovely large
yellow centers and a wonderful frangrance -it's my favorite Christmas present.
-I hope to put it in the ground and
espalier it someday soon as it seems suited (actually grows) in that form...
I haven't ever seen seed pods on it - possibly might be more true to propogate
by other means? If they actually are seed pods, hope someone replies -I would
be interested also
