Eucalyptus is sometimes tissue cultured, when Forestry dept. needs plants
with special characteristics or when they want to "bulk up" quantities of
a variety quickly. I think the process starts with tiny meristem cuttings.
It is a specialised process, and growing from seed is much easier and is
preferred by Forestry and home gardeners. I haven't known of anyone growing
euc. from larger cuttings but why not try? Maybe a chip from the lignotuber
would work, too.
Cheers.
