Well, the little devils sprout, send up one or two little leaves that look
vaguely like some weedy form of viola then loose the leaves and go dormant for
six months or so, or else as long as it takes me to forget what was planted in
the apparently empty pot.

Greetings from Sweden...very far away from the Mediterranean!
Now I must add my two cents worth here....Testudinaria elephantipes....a
pretty disappointing caudex?!?
Yes, it does belong in the 'yam' family...Dioscoreaceae....but what do you
find disappointing about it? As a caud lover, I must leap to its defence!
;-))))
What's wrong with a tuberculed warty caudex?
Wonders Ingrid in Sweden wose Dioscorea elephantipes is small but nice! But
there are other beauties in the 'Family'!
