Of my three surviving Eucryphias, Nymansay is utterly dependable. It is
covered in scented flowers every year in August (the honeybees love it),
and always looks presentable with its evergreen foliage. It is growing in
a narrow place between my house and the neigbour's, in poor sandy soil (so
bad it takes three years for a cabbage to form a head). We have occasional
bad years, but it has survived even when some native trees have suffered
from cold.
