Poppy question

Hello and thanks to everyone who
contributes such great information to the list.

I live on the top corner of an apartment complex,
a block from the Monterey Bay in Santa Cruz, California.
Currently, I have 47 containers on the wall,
railings and floor of my tiny deck.
Facing southeast, the plants must endure salt laden fog,
dessicating winds and shade after the sun passes over the building.

Does anyone know the name of the poppies growing at Point Sur lighthouse?
They appear to be related to California's bright orange state flower,
but they have a prostrate growth habit,
a small lemon yellow flower and quite silvery leaves.
The docent gave me a tiny seed pod so I can start some for my window boxes and
I would like to know their full name.
