olives

I have recently spent a holiday in Provence, and
took some cuttings from the shoots at the base of an old olive tree. I've dipped
them in rooting hormone and planted them in John Innes 2, and wonder if anyone
can offer further advice, tips, hope, success stories? I've also planted some
olive stones, about 8 weeks ago - nothing so far! J.
