Hi Barbara,
    I am not the one with the original post about the tonic, but have used
it on my hellebores with great results.  I just take a big bucket and pour a
'sploosh' of the lime in and fill up the bucket with water, take a stick and
stir.  Then just pour it on the ground around the lenten roses.  These are
not scientific mearsurements, but it works!
