Re: Lenten Rose tonic

Hi all,

The recipe for the lime and water tonic is 1/2 to 1 cup lime dissolved in 2
gallons water. Give each plant a generous drink. Lime is absorbed more
quickly by the roots than if you just sprinkled the lime on the surface of
the soil. Other plants that might benefit from this treatment are:

Centranthus ruber
Clematis
Crambe cordifolia, maybe C. maritima
Some of the dianthus
Crocosmia 'Lucifer'
Geranium biokova
hellebores
Baptisia 'Alba'
Cephaleria gigantea

You can give your plants this potion sporadically throughout the growing
season.
