<< Hi all,
Does anyone know of a source for a Shasta daisy called MAY QUEEN? We
are putting in an island bed in our backyard and my landscaper/friend came by
and did a sketch for me with suggested plants and this is one that is not in
any of my catalogs. Thanks for your help!

This Shasta Daisy is easy to raise from seed, It grows 20inches tall and is
the earliest of the Shasta daisies to bloom. Single white flowers.
For the price of one or two plants you could raise it from seed and have 30
plants.
Fast growing but will might not flower this year if you start them from seed.
But most Shasta flower the first year if started early.
Surface sow the seed, light need for best germination. They like well drained
soils that are on lean side, even do well in sandy soils as long as it's not
bone dry.
They are great cut flowers.
The name now I think is Leucanthemum maximum 'May Queen.'
