Re: salvia in spring

Greetings:

I grew salvia (don't know which variety) from seed several years ago,
and actually have some plants yet from them; one of them, which had
small intensely blue blossoms and the sage leaves, seems to have
survived the winter with many leaves still on it, although many of them
have dried up;

my question is should I cut this back to the ground, or let it grow as
is, as it seems to be alive to the tips?
