Re: Acanthus

Hi,

According to my notes, I have Acanthus balcanicus, A. hungaricus,
A. mollis and A. spinosus (spinosissimus) still living in my garden.
At least they were last year when I did my census.  This means
they have survived either one or two winters (2 planted in 1997,
2 in 1998) in my zone 6b garden.  The only protection they have is
from some deciduous shrubs which isn't much.  We have been lucky
over that period in that we have had some snow cover during the
periods when we experienced our coldest tempertures.
