Hello Martin,
    Welcome to the Perennials list. we share some common interests and
organizations. I, too am a member of the APS. Are you on the APS listserv?
    Although Americans do have competitive judging and shows we do not, in
general, seem to be quite as keen on the pots, shows and alpine frames as you
gardeners over there. More of the get them in the dirt as you seem to indicate
enjoying.
    I have grown Primula in the open garden for some years, but only recently got
focused on them enough to begin collecting. Thus far I am playing in only two
sections and will probably be there for some time to come. My interest is in the
woodlanders that will take our hot and dry late summers and early fall without
dying off. No streams or ponds here on my property.
    Sure do look forward to seeing comments from you about your garden and plants.
