Title: Re: North American Public Gardens
Which gardens you visit depends on which part of these vast
united states you are visiting. Here is Southern California, you
could take 2 weeks visiting public gardens from the Santa Barbara
Botanic Garden in the northern part of the region (notice I did not
say the northern part of the state since Santa Barbara is a
good 1/3 to 3/4 of the way down the state and it isn't even near the
southern border) to the vast gardens of Balboa Park near the Mexican
Border. Huntington Library/Gardens are in between as are
Descanso Gardens, several arboreta (is that the plural of
arboretum?), and other smaller but equally valuable gardens to
visit. Longwood is on the other side of the continent as are
wonderful gardens in Florida, North Carolina, etc. I would bet
there is an impressive public garden in nearly every state.
So, where are you planning to travel?
