Having been a 'lurker' for some time now, reading all the great conversation,
and advice i was interested to learn of people visiting both Kent, where i
live, and The Chelsea flower Show. I thought i would put my head above the
parapet and suggest 2 gardens to visit in Kent both well worth seeing. Church
Hill Cottage near Charing is a beautiful 'Chocolate Box' cottage garden, and
Great Comp near Borough Green is a larger more formal garden but very
impressive. If you would like mdetails email me privately. Visitors to this
and other parts of England can buy a Yellow book of gardens open under the
National Garden scheme telling you which gardens are open and when.
As a member of the Hardy Plant Society (kent group) I have been incredibly
lucky to be involved in helping designing and arranging a garden at this
years 'Chelsea' (fortunately there are people a lot more knowledgeable than
myself involved),and would love to meet visitors at the stand. It will be in
the Specialist tent and although i will not be there all the time (although i
will be on duty some time on Wednesday, Thursday, and friday) it would be
nice to know your von the display. Keep your fingers crossed for us that the
weather and the judging are on our side!
