Civia,
This must be devastating for you. I don't have any
suggestions either apart from the fence. Just wanted you to
know that you had my sympathy. No actually, I might have a
little suggestion. We keep a pet rabbit. Our lawn is a
small round area in the middle of the garden, and this is
fenced off to keep her IN. What we didn't do when we first
erected it, was bury the lower part by about a foot. Every
now and then, when the mood takes her, she starts to tunnel
her way out. We have to keep a constant eye out to make
sure she doesn't escape, so that she doesn't become a meal
for Mrs Fox's hungry babies. So, bury the fence, to stop
your rabbits tunnelling in, and make sure the mesh is small
so that baby rabbits can't climb through - they're quite
tiny.
Best wishes, Louise English, Surrey, England
