Slugs as pollinators?

Hi all,

When I was at the Cincinnati Zoological and Botanical Gardens this
weekend, our tour guide (Steve Foltz) introduced us to the pollination
garden. He mentioned that slugs can be important pollinators for many
species, but I don't know which ones.

Although I generally let slugs have their way in my garden, I'm
curious what adverse effects products like 'Sluggo' have on the
reproductive cycles of plants in people's yards.

One plant rumored to be pollinated by slugs is Asarum canadense, but
I can't find any definite facts about it...

   Anyone have any input?

Chris
