Do you mean mealie bugs?  This past winter  several of my house plants got them....my hoyas and jades in particular, and I don't remember ever having this much problem with it.  A couple weeks ago we had about a dozen lady bugs crawling on the patio door and the plants in front of it.  Is there a connection between lady bugs and mealie bugs? (am I spelling that right?)
