Re: water crystals


I often use them for water hogs because I can't trust myself to water
them as often as they'd like in the heat of the summer. Also I have a
spot that's dry because it's underneath an overhang but is also shady.
Since most shade lovers also love moisture, it's sometimes hard to select
plants for such a spot. I put the crystals around some hosta and
campanula and they are doing okay with occasional watering. I'm going to
have to replace them soon though because the crystals aren't supposed to
last more than a few years in the ground.
