Susan, I have been growing Carex morrowii 'Variegata' in total shade for 2
1/2 years and it just gets bigger and prettier. Green with broad gold
margins as I recall without going outside to look at it. It is especially
nice in a container where it can trail over the edges of the pot.
Deschampsia 'Northern Lights' & Lazula niveus also like shade.
